How much does personal online reputation repair cost?

Long-term reputation management strategy is mandatory in most repair cases.

That is why you’ll find that hiring someone to fix your online reputation is VERY EXPENSIVE.

Look around, you’ll see that online reputation management campaigns are priced at $2500-$10,000 a month and up. High-profile personal online reputation management, or major online crisis control can run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Think I’m kidding? Here’s a quote from Andy Beal[1] (a well known online reputation management author) via Business Insider:

If a reputation management company charges too little, beware. Even a low-end reputation management campaign will cost a couple thousand dollars a month to do it right.

So if you need to hire someone to clean up your online reputation, be prepared to hire legit service and to pay a good chunk of change.[2]

and other quotes

And if you are constantly trying to hide something, like a negative apartment review or bad press, the work you paid $5000 for today might be useless next month when Google releases its next version of their algorithm.

And yes, you read that correctly. Good ORM firms should cost at least a few thousand dollars per month. It was quite the sticker shock for me the first time I looked into hiring a firm, which is exactly why I decided to teach myself ORM![3]

What reputation repair costs really depends on the individual case. How bad the reputation was damaged, how many negative items there are, what websites these negative items are posted on and how much daily work needs to be done for a successful campaign.

Do it yourself

Don’t worry about having to spend thousands to repair your online rep, you can repair your own online reputation and save a ton of money.
